Meeting & Membership Information

CCKC meets on the 4th Wednesday of January, February, March, April, May, June, August, September, and October, and on the fourth Tuesday in November. Meetings alternate between Live Oaks Career Campus, Buckwheat Road, Milford, and the Miami Township Public Library on Rte 131 in Milford. The club also hosts occasional dinner meetings at area restaurants. Contact the corresponding secretary at billie@sagenhaftweims.com for the meeting location if you would like to attend.

Many meetings also include short education programs on a variety of topics, including breed-specific dog sports (water work, carting, lure-coursing, etc.), search and rescue training and operations, canine health, AKC policies, and more.

Business meetings generally begin at 7:30 p.m. but may start later on program nights. Refreshments are served prior to the beginning of the meeting. Some meetings are preceded by programs that begin at 7 p.m.

Annual elections are in January. The club picnic is in July, and the Christmas party is in December.

The CCKC membership policy rewards members who attend two meetings per year and work in some capacity for the club. The board determines the reward each January for services rendered the preceding year.

Guests are welcome. Those who wish to apply for membership must attend two meetings and get signatures from two current members on an application.

Meeting programs

CCKC opens some membership meetings with educational programs such as this demonstration of canine bomb-sniffing prowess and a demonstration of 4-H obedience. Some of our pre-meeting programs are open to the public. See more photos and reports at Pups for Peace and
4-H demonstration.
