CCKC offers awards for home-bred
and handled champions and versatile performance dogs

These awards recognize the achievements of club members and their dogs. Therefore, the titles must be earned while the dog is owned by a member of the club. Titles earned before the owner joined the club and titles earned by the dog prior to acquisition by the club member are not eligible.

Applications for the awards are due to the awards chairman by January 15 for achievements in the previous calendar year, and presentations are made at the annual meeting in January. Dogs that have achieved their third title and owner bred and handled dogs that have earned their championship from January 1-December 31 are eligible. (For example, applications for awards earned in 2012 are due January 15, 2013, and the awards chairman will present certificates to members at the 2013 annual meeting.)

Award forms for the bred-by exhibitor championship can be downloaded here; forms for the versatility award are available here.

Versatility award

This award will be given to dogs that have achieved titles in three disciplines recognized by the AKC or the breed parent club. AKC-recognized breeds, including breeds in the miscellaneous class and the AKC Foundation Stock Service, are eligible.

The AKC titles include a breed championship; obedience; Rally-O; agility; tracking; earthdog; herding; hunting; lure coursing and any other events sanctioned by AKC. (Canine Good Citizen is not a title and will not be recognized as such.)

Breed parent club titles include certifications awarded for breed-related skills such as herding, water rescue, carting, sledding, packing, trailing, weight pulls, etc.

Titles offered by clubs, groups, or associations other than the breed parent club or the AKC are not eligible.

Bred-by exhibitor championship

This award will be given to members who show a dog they bred to a championship by accumulating all points as an owner-handler. Points need not be earned from the bred-by class.
